Tis the season for all things spooky! Here is a great line-up of family friendly Halloween movies to help you get your scare on. These movies are all rated G or PG and are really fun. They are all family friendly and great for those who like spooky fun movies without being scary. I’ve seen a lot of Halloween movies, and these are my favorite. So whether you are looking for family movies or you are a Halloween movie wimp, like myself, enjoy!

It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown – rated G. The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin. Animated
Monster House – rated PG. Three teens discover that their neighbor’s house is really a living, breathing, scary monster. Animated
Haunted Mansion – rated PG. A realtor and his wife and children are summoned to a mansion, which they soon discover is haunted, and while they attempt to escape, he learns an important lesson about the family he has neglected.
The Nightmare Before Christmas – rated PG. Jack Skellington, king of Halloween Town, discovers Christmas Town, but doesn’t quite understand the concept.
Hotel Transylvania – rated G. Dracula, who operates a high-end resort away from the human world, goes into overprotective mode when a boy discovers the resort and falls for the count’s teen-aged daughter. Animated
Hotel Transylvania 2 – rated G. Dracula and his friends try to bring out the monster in his half human, half vampire grandson in order to keep Mavis from leaving the hotel. Animated
Coraline – rated PG. An adventurous girl finds another world that is a strangely idealized version of her frustrating home, but it has sinister secrets. Animated
Monsters Inc. – rated G. In order to power the city, monsters have to scare children so that they scream. However, the children are toxic to the monsters, and after a child gets through, two monsters realize things may not be what they think.
Monsters University – rated G. A look at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at Monsters University — when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends.
Tower of Terror – no rating (TV Movie). A disgraced reporter investigates an abandoned luxury hotel where five people mysteriously disappeared sixty years earlier. (Disney) Was the ride based on the movie or the movie based on the ride?
Scooby-Doo: Monsters Unleashed – rated PG. Mystery Inc. must save Coolsville from an attack of past unmasked monsters brought to life by an evil masked figure trying to “unmask” the gang.
Scooby-Doo: Spooky Island – rated PG. After an acrimonious break up, the Mystery Inc. gang are individually brought to an island resort to investigate strange goings on.
The Wizard of Oz – rated G. Dorothy Gale is swept away to a magical land in a tornado and embarks on a quest to see the Wizard who can help her return home. A Classic!
Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone – rated PG. Rescued from the outrageous neglect of his aunt and uncle, a young boy with a great destiny proves his worth while attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets – rated PG. Harry ignores warnings not to return to Hogwarts, only to find the school plagued by a series of mysterious attacks and a strange voice haunting him.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban – rated PG. It’s Harry’s third year at Hogwarts; not only does he have a new “Defense Against the Dark Arts” teacher, but there is also trouble brewing. Convicted murderer Sirius Black has escaped the Wizards’ Prison and is coming after Harry.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – rated PG. Harry finds himself mysteriously selected as an under-aged competitor in a dangerous tournament between three schools of magic.
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix – rated PG. With their warning about Lord Voldemort’s return scoffed at, Harry and Dumbledore are targeted by the Wizard authorities as an authoritarian bureaucrat slowly seizes power at Hogwarts.
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince – rated PG. As Harry Potter begins his sixth year at Hogwarts, he discovers an old book marked as “the property of the Half-Blood Prince” and begins to learn more about Lord Voldemort’s dark past.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 – rated PG. As Harry races against time and evil to destroy the Horcruxes, he uncovers the existence of three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – rated PG. Harry, Ron and Hermione search for Voldemort’s remaining Horcruxes in their effort to destroy the Dark Lord as the final battle rages on at Hogwarts. It all ends!
The Addams Family – rated PG. Con artists plan to fleece an eccentric family using an accomplice who claims to be their long-lost uncle.
Young Frankenstein – rated PG. An American grandson of the infamous scientist, struggling to prove that he is not as insane as people believe, is invited to Transylvania, where he discovers the process that reanimates a dead body. Hilarious comedy!
Edward Scissorhands – rated PG. A gentle man, with scissors for hands, is brought into a new community after living in isolation.
Hocus Pocus – rated PG. After three centuries, three witch sisters are resurrected in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night, and it is up to two teenagers, a young girl and an immortal cat to put an end to the witches’ reign of terror once and for all.
Under Wraps – no rating (TV movie). Three kids accidentally re-animate a mummy on Halloween.
Ghostbusters – rated PG. Three former parapsychology professors set up shop as a unique ghost removal service.
Ghostbusters II – rated PG. The discovery of a massive river of ectoplasm and a resurgence of spectral activity allows the staff of Ghostbusters to revive the business.
Ghostbusters III – rated PG. Following a ghost invasion of Manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat.
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow – rated G. In a small town, a brewing romantic rivalry with a local tough and a school-teacher culminates in a terrifying ride in the night. Animated
The Goonies – rated PG. In order to save their home from foreclosure, a group of misfits set out to find a pirate’s ancient valuable treasure. *Love this one!
