I love to decorate for Valentines. Most of what I have is homemade and didn’t cost much. It’s a way that I show my family love. I know my son loves it and looks forward to the decorations going up. It’s part of making memories. This year I made a Conversation Heart Garland and I am so glad at how lovely and festive it turned out to be. It’s easy to make and costs next to nothing and it adds some Valentines cheeriness to your house.
A Little Conversation Heart History
Conversation hearts, also known as Sweethearts are those sweet little iconic heart-shaped sugar confections with messages printed right on them. Every Valentine’s Day they show up and they have a very long history! According to Necco, Sweethearts have been around since 1866. Every year they make more than a 100,000 pounds of the iconic candy which adds up to billions of candy hearts. I, myself, have been known to enjoy quite a few of these adorable little candies. They are delicious and adorable!
Make your own Conversation Heart Garland
Simply print the supplied pattern (below) onto cardstock in colors of your choice.
Cut out the hearts
Hang on a line. * You can use twine, floss, yarn, or whatever you have handy. I had these cute little clothes pins that I used to hang the hearts on the twine. You can clip the hearts on, or tape them on with cute washi tape. You could even punch holes in them and tie them on the line. They are absolutely adorable!
* optional – add a little glitter! Everything is better with Glitter.
Enjoy the awesomeness!

Doubt thou the stars are fire;
Doubt that the sun doth move;
Doubt truth to be a liar;
But never doubt I love.
